All staff are friendly and give up time to work with parents at events and as part of FODs or governors - really lovely people!
The atmosphere at school is really nice, it feels friendly and warm. All of the staff are easy to approach and genuinely care about the children.
All staff are excellent at dealing with incidents or fall outs that happen - because they know the children as individuals.
At Diseworth C of E Primary School, we are committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for all children. We take bullying seriously. Pupils and parents should be assured that they will be supported when bullying is reported to a member of staff.
The Antibullying alliance defines bullying as the following:
'Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. It can happen face to face or online.'
Bullying is behaviour repeated over time that intentionally hurts someone either physically or emotionally. Bullying is several times on purpose.
It is not a one-off argument, fallout, or incident where someone has said or done something unkind.
There are four types of bullying:
• Physical (pushing, poking, kicking, hitting, biting, pinching, causing physical damage to a person or belongings)
• Verbal (name calling, sarcasm, spreading rumours, threats, teasing, belittling)
• Psychological (spreading rumours, tormenting, threatening gestures, ridiculing, humiliation, isolating and excluding someone, making someone do something they don’t want to).
• Cyber (use of technology e.g. internet, tablets, mobile phones, computers, laptops)
Bullying behaviour of any sort is not tolerated at Diseworth C of E Primary School. If you have any concerns about bullying, please report to a staff member as soon as possible.
