From the start of our child's time at Diseworth we have always felt part of the school and any queries we have had have always been dealt with quickly and professionally.
We chose Diseworth C of E School not because it is local but because of the ethos. It is all about the individual child and their educational needs.
We chose Diseworth C of E School because there is swimming every week. This is great - an important life skill.

What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil funding is additional funding which the Government gives to schools. The funding is to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England.
The Government provide this money to help school address the current national underlying inequalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their peers. The funding is to ensure that provision is in place for those disadvanataged children who need it the most.
The use of the Pupil Premium Grant is the responsibility of each individual school. However, it is assumed that the funding should be used to remove barriers to learning and ensure that each student participates fully in all aspects of school life and reaches his/her full potential.
How is Pupil Premium Calculated?
Pupil Premium is based on the January Census and is calculated according to the number of children in the school eligible for Free School Meals over the last 6 years, Looked after children (in the care of the Local Authority or adopted) and pupils whose parents are in the Armed Forces.
Schools decide how Pupil Premium funding is spent, because they are best placed to assess what additional provsision and initiatives should be put in place to ensure maximum progress for each of the pupils within their care.
What are the plans for spending the 2023 to 2024 allocation?
Pupil Premium funding at Diseworth Primary School is used primarily to support accelerated progress for our pupils through planning and delivery of a range of enhanced and personalised learning experiences. The impact of Pupil Premium is closely monitored by the Senior Leadership and Governors, with detailed analysis used to inform priorities for each year's expenditure.

How do we ensure that all staff fulfil the Pupil Premium Strategy?
- Provide a culture of high expectations and standards for all learners. We have an ethos of using their character muscles to ensure they overcome barriers in their learning.
- Data analysis is carried out by all teachers and strengths and weaknesses are shared across the school. Pupils progress meetings are held each term and used to plan targeted intervention and support.
- All staff are aware of our vulnerable and Pupil Premium children and they benefit from the funding.
- Teachers target under achievement at all levels, through high quality teaching, differentiation and intervention.
- Ensure high quality teaching in all classes.
- All intervention groups are monitored and evaluated closely and staff leading them are matched due to their skill strength. Individual children’s needs are monitored and planning for intervention addresses their specific identified needs. Staff communicate this regularly and effectively between each other.
- Provide equality of access for educational visits and extra curricular visits.
